MAKE-A-WISH GRANTED $2,000 FROM LA SALSA GRAND OPENING EVENT

The Make-A-Wish Foundation of San Diego® had their own dreams realized when hundreds of supporters attended the grand opening festivities of the new La Salsa Fresh Mexican Grill in Oceanside. According to Michael Liby, executive vice president and COO of La Salsa Fresh Mexican Grill, 100 percent of the nearly $2,000 raised at the opening was donated to the non-profit organization whose mission is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses. Funds were raised in an unusual way as La Salsa “turned the tables” on its guests during the busy dinner hours (from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.) by allowing them to order any single entrée and drink and use their discretion to set the price. Guests, who included numerous supporters, organizers and beneficiaries of Make-A-Wish, were on hand for the festivities.

“We are delighted that so many Oceanside residents turned out to help us celebrate our grand opening and raise funds for this very worthy cause,” said Liby, “I am proud to announce that we have raised enough funds to help grant wishes to youngsters who truly will appreciate the kindness and generous support of the Oceanside community.”

Added Tracie Barham, associate director of development for Make-A-Wish Foundation of San Diego®, “It truly was heartwarming to see the community rally in support of La Salsa’s effort to answer the prayers of these very special youngsters. In fact, sisters Linsey and Amy Wehner, who suffer from spinal muscular atrophy, couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw how many people came out to show their support. ”

La Salsa Fresh Mexican Grill is located at 4111 Oceanside Blvd., at the southwest corner of Oceanside Blvd. and College in Oceanside. The phone number is (760) 724-8079.

For more than two decades, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of San Diego® is an organization that has delivered hope, strength and joy to youngsters afflicted with terminal illnesses.
