LA SALSA RAISES NEARLY $10,000 TO FULFILL WISHES OF TERMINALLY ILL
Thanks to overwhelming public support, La Salsa Fresh Mexican Grill’s® recent national fundraising campaign benefiting Dream Foundation has generated nearly $10,000 to help the nonprofit’s mission of service to grant the final wishes of those facing terminal illness, said La Salsa COO Amir Siddiqi. The month-long endeavor consisted of participating La Salsa locations across the nation donating a portion of the proceeds from the sales of GrandeTrays to Dream Foundation. The campaign also featured celebrities including actor Ian Ziering (of “Beverly Hills 90210” fame) and renowned Latina actress Elizabeth Peña, both of whom are dedicated, long-term supporters of Dream Foundation, who visited La Salsa to kick off the fundraising drive.
“We are delighted that our campaign in support of Dream Foundation was such a success, both in terms of generating funds and increasing public awareness of the organization’s mission of service,” said Siddiqi, who revealed that enough funds were raised to fulfill dreams for eight individuals. “We are privileged to have been able to play a role in helping make the wishes of some truly needy individuals come true. We hope that the public has come to hold a dear place in their hearts for Dream Foundation and that they will continue lending their support long into the future.”
GrandeTrays, which are available at all La Salsa restaurants, feed up to eight adults and can be prepared with as little as 30-minutes advance notice. The items range from $19.95 to $34.95 and are available in three combinations: Taquito GrandeTrays, Taco GrandeTrays and Burrito GrandeTrays.
Dream Foundation is the first and largest national nonprofit organization granting final wishes to terminally ill adults who have a life expectancy of six months or less. Now in its 11th year, Dream Foundation has granted more than 3,600 dreams to adults nationwide who are emotionally, financially and physically devastated by terminal illness. Dream Foundation’s mission is to ensure that no adult, whose life will end prematurely due to a terminal illness, must ever pass from this earth without realizing one final wish from the heart.
